How We Train Our Carers
What every carer completes before they visit a client, and what they keep doing after.
Before anyone visits a client
No carer works alone with a client until they have completed induction, mandatory training and shadowing with an experienced colleague. That is not negotiable, whatever the staffing pressure.
On top of the basics, carers take condition-specific training for the clients they support, including dementia, Parkinson's, stroke recovery and end-of-life care. Samina, our senior care assistant, delivers much of it in house.
- Care Certificate and full induction
- Moving and handling, safeguarding, medication, first aid
- Shadowing before working alone
- Condition-specific training including dementia and palliative care
- Ongoing supervision and refresher training
